Artist Statement:

My work has focused on space exploration, space colonization, space history, A.I and incorporating the values, traditions, and history of my cultural background. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, colonial imagery of Native Americans and classical portrait themes with contemporary portraiture practices, I create water color and acrylic portraits with stylized characters and symbolism. While, paint and other mediums such as screen-printing and collage arrange the surface, I enjoy implementing mixed media and styles of color or form, realism and abstract to explore my interest as a space enthusiast.

While painting on two-dimensional forms is my tradition, for the last 5 years I have concentrated on a spaced themed streetwear in commercial screen printing and developing artwork for a broader audience with an environmental purpose. Screen printing is the perfect medium for my space-inspired designs. This method allows me to meticulously layer colors, creating unique and durable prints that bring my visions to life. While my art is deeply personal, its commercial aspect is about sharing that wonder and fascination while providing an environmentally friendly option. Each design is personally printed on a hundred precent recycled cotton with the option for the customer to utilize a closed loop system which the garment is sent back to factory for future production. This process encourages sustainability and reducing a carbon foot print, landfill waste and reduction of water use.
